The critical edition of the Janacek quartet was compiled by experienced editors Milos Stedron and Leos Faltus. The volume contains a preface by Milos Stedron (Cz./Ger./Eng./Fr./Rus.), the complete score with supplements in the form of a diplomatic transcription of Janacek's autograph [original version with viola d'amore] and a complete facsimile of this version. The bi-lingual critical commentary (Cz./Ger.) contains a list of all sources, principles of publication and detailed notes by the editors. The critical edition also includes the complete instrumentation. After an extended interval, this gem of 20th century quartet literature is a long-awaited addition to the Complete Critical Edition of Works by Leos Janacek.
